The longer you have stayed in one place, the more stable your finances are likely to be. Therefore, if you have recently moved, and intend to apply for any kind of borrowing, it is essential to check with your local council that your details have been registered on the electoral roll.
If they have not, it may take up to one month for your application to be processed and for it to be available for the credit-reference agencies.
