Tescocompare.com adds mortgage service

Tescocompare.com is to offer people the chance to examine a range of mortgage deals, it has been announced.

The website will offer what it has dubbed an "impartial whole-of-market" service and consumers can also contact a mortgage advice team over the phone.

Matthew Dransfield, spokesperson for Tescocompare.com, said: "Allowing people to compare product features on a like for like basis will be a great help for anyone looking for a mortgage ."

This applies to people looking for a remortgage deal and to first time buyers, he added.

With the current state of the mortgage market, people are finding it hard to locate a suitable mortgage deal and the new service should assist them, Mr Dransfield stated.

Last week, Legal and General announced it has entered into a partnership with Money Portal to make its mortgages more widely available

The lender's mortgage club deals will now be available through Money Portal's independent financial advisers .
