The price of manor houses is accelerating more rapidly than other
property types in the countryside, people looking to
find a remortgage may be interested to know.
According to the country
house index from property professionals Knight Frank, the average cost of a manor property increased by 3.5 per cent during the course of the first three months of 2007.
To put this into perspective, farmhouse valuations rose by 3.3 per cent over the same period, while country house prices grew by 3.1 per cent.
Cottage prices increased by 2.5 per cent, the index reveals.
Liam Bailey, head of residential research at Knight Frank, commented: "2007 has started with strong growth in the country house market.
"Manor houses proved to be the strongest sub-sector yet again, with prices growing by 2.5 per cent bringing their annualised price growth to 12.4 per cent."
The latest findings may be of particular
interest to manor house owners looking to find a
