Northern Rock has announced that it is reducing the mortgage rates on all its flexible fixed rate mortgages by up to 0.34 per cent.
The reduced mortgage rates will be available to all mortgage borrowers from today.
An arrangement fee of £695 applies for the two-year flexible fixed rate mortgage, which has a mortgage rate of 4.45 per cent.
Meanwhile, flexible fixed rate mortgages over five, seven, ten and 15 years have mortgage rates starting from 4.99 per cent. An arrangement fee of £695 will be charged on these mortgages.
All mortgage borrowers have the option of either paying the arrangement fee or being charged a higher mortgage rate.
In the case of the two-year flexible fixed rate mortgage, the mortgage rate would rise from 4.45 per cent to 4.85 per cent if the borrower does not want to pay an arrangement fee.
Daily calculation of interest as well as the options to overpay, underpay or take a payment holiday are added benefits for Northern Rock mortgage customers.
As well as mortgages, Northern Rock also offers personal loans, unsecured loans and payment protection insurance for all its customers.
