Mortgage holders looking for
mortgage payment protection insurance are being urged to shop around for the best deals.
Many
mortgage holders are believed to sign up with their
mortgage lender for mortgage
payment protection insurance simply because it saves time and they do not want to shop around following a "lengthy" mortgage application process, says Rachel McKay of price comparison website Moneyfacts.
The mortgage analyst explains that mortgage borrowers "need to be made aware" that shopping around for mortgage payment
protection insurance cover, either direct or via their independent
financial adviser , is an avenue that is "well worth exploring".
She goes on to say that by shopping around for the best deal, mortgage holders could save "thousands of pounds" over their mortgage term.
Furthermore, there are now many independent
financial service product providers offering "cheaper" products, according to the mortgage expert.
"New deals are evolving all the time and … some of the newcomers to this field are offering solutions which are cheaper and more innovative than some of the established players," Ms McKay concludes.
